My Story of Becoming a Photographer
As far back as my memory stretches, I've held an unwavering passion for photography. The act of creating beautiful portraits has always been a source of joy for me.
I'm the eldest in my family of seven, which includes five sisters and one brother. I can vividly recall the moment when I was 16, and my father purchased a modest, inexpensive Sony digital camera for me. At that time, I had little knowledge about the intricacies of light, but I adored capturing images. I would often arrange my siblings for photos, striving to create heartwarming sibling portraits. Truth be told, anyone willing to be photographed became my subject – aunts, uncles, cousins, you name it. I embraced the opportunity to capture the essence of those around me.
My enthusiasm grew, and when I turned 20, I received my first Canon Rebel camera, an experience that left me absolutely thrilled. For the next decade, I primarily used this camera to create portraits for friends and family. It wasn't until I met my incredible fiancé that I was encouraged to step out of my comfort zone. He recognized my profound love for photography and encouraged me to share it with the world. This encouragement prompted me to take the plunge into the world of photography. I upgraded my camera to a full-frame model, invested in new lenses, and enrolled in multiple photography courses. I was determined to understand the specific aesthetic I wanted to achieve, focusing on the interplay of light, location, and posing to bring out the best in my subjects.
The journey to reach this point in my photography career has been a long and fulfilling one. I'm utterly enamored with the art of photography, and I only wish I had embarked on this path sooner. Meeting new people and forging friendships is a genuine pleasure for me, and photography offers me the perfect avenue to do just that.
